The Open University published its latest Innovating Pedagogy report, co-authored by academics at the Institute of Educational Technology together with researchers from the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching at the University of Cape Town.

This report is set up by the expert pools of the EMPOWER programme established by EADTU to cover the latest trends and developments in new modes of teaching.

This Special Issue is an outcome of a cooperation between theOnline Learning Journal (OLJ), the Center for Open Education Research (COER),and the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU)1at the Innovating Higher Education Conference 2022 (I-HE 2022), held in Athens on 19-21, October 2022.

We look back at a very eventful year, in which EADTU celebrated its 35th anniversary and shared knowledge and skills by numerous events, publications, services and projects. This report captures the highlights.
