EADTU collaboration with CEE-Countries
In the last decade, several collaborative actions have been initiated between EADTU and Central and Eastern European Countries.
Some examples:

• Phare multicountry project
  This project has been one of the largest projects in which EADTU has been involved. The goal of the project was promoting multi-country co-operation in the area of distance education and the further development of the education and training systems of the PHARE partner countries. A pilot project was launched in 1994 and a follow-up project in 1996. Read more about these projects. EADTU fulfilled a key-role in representing the western community of distance education in the project. This large scale project has had a substantial impact and is still the basis for further co-operation between Central, Eastern and Western European countries on distance education. As a result, a broad network of study centres and an extensive amount of course material has been developed.
• NEPOLD
  A direct follow-up was the NEPOLD-project. This project is about twinning of existing study centres and networks of study centres in East, Central and West Europe .
• Mission project
  This project aims to strengthen the links between the recently established CEE PHARE ODL Centres. At the same time it aims to improve the effectiveness and long-term stability of collaboration between EuroStudy Centres (coordinated by EADTU) and PHARE ODL Centres. As a more generic objective, it focuses on enhancing the awareness of ODL as the most effective, innovative and flexible methodology for supporting the European dimension of lifelong learning.

EADTU welcomes the Accessed and Accession Countries
Several Central and Eastern European countries are member and active player within EADTU. We welcome new members of the accessed and accession countries to join EADTU as the representative and frontrunner of their country in distance education.
